VIDEO: A Chat Centered Around Joyfulness with Max Morris

health freedom joy podcast Feb 01, 2022

I was invited to a video chat with my new friend Max Morris, who I met through my PA Health Freedom group.

Yesterday Max recorded this joyful conversation -- to be shared with you, for your journey, & across interconnected networks of caring, joyful people. Amazing to reveal what we can heal when we center awareness in our own bodies & find what is most right for us. We're tuning to what we love, feeling good, honoring the benefits of pleasurable experiences, & discovering ourselves as powerful forces for positive change in the world.

My purpose is to be in joy ( + Healthy chocolate peanut butter cups )

My purpose is to be in joy. My name isn't Lydia JOY for no reason.

We were born to live, not to heal. Not to PERFORM or be busy. Rest is actually the most productive.

It's time to learn to enjoy your one and only life. Yes, even in these crazy times we are living in.

I'm over here, enjoying nature, food and connection. How about you?

With that, in light of the season, I wanted to share one of my favorite homemade healthy treats. I've been making these for the past 10 years or so.

Heavenly Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

2 cups dark chocolate (or milk chocolate if you prefer)
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup organic natural peanut butter - I use a brand with palm oil (creamy or crunchy)

1 tablespoons honey

1. Melt chocolate and oil in a small mug in the toaster oven on low heat for 4 minutes, additionally in another mug add the butter, peanut butter and honey.

2. Line a mini muffin tin with paper cup liners. Once the chocolate is melted add a...

Celebrating the Miracle Boy Who Made Me a Mommy

joy single motherhood Dec 01, 2019

Today, I am celebrating my oldest son, Caleb’s, 21st birthday.

And, I’m a little over the moon.

So, indulge me as I share (like any momma proudly would) about his miraculous entry into this world and what he has taught me.

My pregnancy with Caleb was rather unexpected and came at a time in my life where I was ‘lost’ for lack of a better way to express that period.

I didn’t know what I wanted in life, or where I was going and I wasn’t in tune with who I really truly was deep down.

So yeah … LOST.

With the pregnancy came much upheaval in my life and many complications with my health.

Fast forward to the day I had to take myself to the hospital because I could barely breathe, (you see, I had a history of asthma since I was 13).

That visit, while only 33 weeks pregnant, landed me in the hospital overnight and then for well over a week.

You see, Caleb was in what was called a footling breech position.

Where one of his feet was lowered over my...

How To Become Who You Want To Be

joy mind body mindset Jun 19, 2018

It was the summer of 2007, I had gone through the eternal fires from the pit of hell in my life experience in many ways. I was barely surviving. Deep down, I knew there was more to life that my current experience dictated. My soul was screaming at the top of her lungs; "I want more than this, there has to be more!"

To give you a little picture of where I am coming from. I had just had my 4th son and had to flee from his father to another state to escape his abuse. At the time, I felt like no one could help me but myself. And truth be told, I was exhausted beyond all comprehension of fighting - I was drained to the core; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

It took a lot to get to this point in my life and that’s all a story for another day (I’m actually writing a book about it), but that summer was the turning point when I finally ‘woke up’ and began to fall in love with myself. The me that was buried and hiding my whole life dying to be...
