PODCAST: How to use your hormonal rhythm to your advantage

In this podcast episode, I'm talking about how to get in sync with your cycle, your infradian rhythm. A woman's 28 day cycle rhythm.

When you really know your cycle, the ebbs and flows of your hormones and how that changes your brain over the course of the month, you can work with the shifts instead of against yourself. Understanding how you ebb and flow during your cycle can become a huge source of freedom and energy for you. 

A few years back I had a cycle that woke me up in a big way. It went REALLY long and hit REALLY hard. Not only that I noticed how dramatically differently I felt in the different phases of my cycle. I had also started getting headaches that coincided with a specific time of the month. I noticed my energy starting to dip significantly during my luteal phase and after being in burnout for so long I paid attention to my body cues so I could SLOW down.

I decided to get to know my cycle more intimately and study the hormones, the cycles and even set an intention to get my cycle in sync with the moon.

Now I use my cycle rhythm and energy to my advantage. I know what I'm capable of during each phase of my cycle and I plan my life accordingly. It's such a huge source of relief and to be honest I now find the shifts kind of fun.

I also realized while working with clients, many women really didn't know much about their cycle phases or hormonal rhythm at all. In fact, many women were not even tracking their cycle to know when they would start bleeding each month. This gave me even more reason to get in tune and educated so I could empower my clients further.

So, in this episode I share about each phase of a women's 28 day hormone cycle; menstrual, follicular, ovulation and luteal. How long each cycle tends to run, what's up with your hormones during each phase and then how to use that to your advantage when planning your work, food, exercise and even how to approach intimacy and sex.

I love talking about this because when I got in sync it really became a source of relief to honor my body in this way. I bet you will too.
